Louise Dyson,

U.S. Army Non-Stockpile Chemical Materiel Project

Louise Dyson approached her job very seriously and made that point clear to anyone she dealt with as a public affairs officer. Anita met Louise shortly after she graduated from college, in support of the public affairs clients as part of her first job. Louise quickly became a nurturing parent, helping Anita guide the political ups and downs of government contracting.

Their first encounter came as Anita worked on one of her first assignments. As Anita sat in the empty cubical next to Louise and poured through file cabinets and boxes of old photos, Louise sensed Anita's apprehension and offered to help.

The benefits of that encounter and the back-story Louise provided about staff members and their interactions became evident years later when Anita returned to government contracting as A. Bright Idea. With Anita's support role as a strategic consultant, she and Louise continued to build their professional and personal relationship.

On another chance encounter, Anita interviewed Cobey Dietrich and recommended her for the government contract she was working on. For more than two years, she and Cobey worked together to support Louise and learn from the daily challenges of a government contract. Although Cobey briefly parted ways with Anita to pursue other opportunities, she returned to support the government contract as part of A. Bright Idea.

Throughout the years, Anita watched Louise work a room, ask questions, withhold comment, judge and be judged. She helped shape Anita's career and she shared the importance of family. Louise remained dedicated to her job, but knew that at the end of the day, it was all about perspective - lessons Anita and Cobey continue to learn from Louise as she enjoys retirement.
