Just like the landscapes he creates, Paul LeVine grows on you. His matter-of-fact attitude coupled with his creativity and silliness just make you smile. Paul, TJ and Anita struck a friendship when they worked on a mutual project in 2000.
After talking about the project for weeks on the phone, Anita met Paul at his office in Baltimore. Paul worked out of an old mill with exposed brick walls, a loading dock and so much character it was no wonder the facility served as a creative center for some of the most talented artists and designers in Baltimore.
Paul and Anita talked about the building, their experience and their vision for their respective businesses. Hours passed in what seemed like a lunch break. It soon became apparent that their respective strengths and passions complemented one another and they could rely on each other. Paul could create on paper and in the dirt with his drawing and landscaping talents, while Anita could translate business goals into achievable successes with verbal and visual communication pieces.
Over dinner, drinks on the deck, and silly phone calls and emails, Paul created a backyard getaway for TJ and Anita. He provided a comprehensive master plan, helped with the location and installation of a pool, and pruned plants and moved dirt to create a space Anita adores. In return, Anita and Beth designed a logo, collateral materials, brochures, folders, flyers, and a Web site for Paul.
Their businesses and their friendship flourished as they shared their business endeavors. They still tease one another mercilessly, but the yin-yang of their relationship make any interaction fun.
