Assistant Director of Marketing Communications
A. Bright Idea is seeking an Assistant Director of Marketing Communications to lead and support the strategic marketing efforts for clients across our offices based in Maryland, Northern and Southern California. This fast-paced, high-volume environment requires the ability to demonstrate expertise while delivering excellent customer service, effectively delivering creative, customized, strategic solutions for our diverse client base.

The Assistant Director of Marketing Communications leads brand and marketing strategies, channel management and supports marketing communications campaigns. With a focus on cross-functional communications, you will collaborate with a variety of creative teams, introduce new strategies, and lead and support the development and execution of communications campaigns. This position requires a passion for brand building, the experience of inspiring robust performance and creative outcomes across a variety of communication channels.
The ideal candidate must understand the importance and have the ability to maintain positive relationships with external and internal partners. This includes rolling up your sleeves and working collaboratively with fellow members of the team to ensure tasks are being executed. You will utilize full-funnel marketing strategies, collaborating and understanding advertising, media, SEO, content and creative execution with exceptional attention to detail in managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Candidates must be go-getters who have the ability to easily build positive relationships, cultivate existing relationships and use performance metrics, competitor trends, and future insights to inform decision making. What You’ll Do:

  • Work in partnership with agency directors and leadership to establish the strategic framework for client campaigns; lead and develop high-performing marketing communications initiatives
  • Initiate and support the development of strategic communication and marketing plans, identifying strategy, goals and objectives, marketing tactics and alignment with measurable KPIs, including short and long-term plans
  • Demonstrate confidence and support leadership in all aspects of marketing to establish, develop and execute comprehensive marketing plans and programs, including the research, analysis, budgeting, development and execution
  • Lead and support the development of marketing and collateral materials, as well as digital and online marketing initiatives
  • Identify and communicate marketing communications challenges and solutions, demonstrating key intellect and aptitude by presenting solutions and building confidence in a recommended approach while being open to insights and challenges that may alter your plan
  • Conduct and evaluate market research and adjust marketing strategies to meet changing market, audience and/or competitor conditions
  • Proactively keep abreast of industry trends, new technology, industry and client-relative events, trends and announcements to identify new opportunities and present new ideas to clients and internal team members
  • Collaborate with internal teams on campaign deliverables and tracking outcomes
  • Build and support internal relationships among fellow agency collogues to do what it takes to get the job done
  • Collaborate often with the visual team to ensure campaign goals and key messaging is at the core of marketing creative in support of outreach tactics
  • Participate in cross-functional discussions and decisions

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, communications or related field
  • Minimum 8+ years experience in marketing, communications and project management experience
  • Proven understanding of brand communications with hands-on experience across multiple channels
  • An analytical and data-driven mindset with experience in campaign measurement and performance; experience with CRM tools preferred
  • Demonstrated proficiency in social media and digital formats, understanding of and ability to lead influencer marketing strategies and social media outreach campaigns
